That's pretty sweet. If I still had my dad's collection of 2600 games, I'd totally do that. Sadly, they all got tossed in the late '80s when the console bit the dust. Although we saw the garbage man take the console, games, and everything, and put them in the cab of the truck, so who knows, they could still be in someone's collection somewhere.

DO you have anymore info on the mod? I still have a 2600 and around 50 games for it.

Did you cut up an old atari and use parts or is this all from new parts? etc.

I see an occasional flashback for sale cheap and this might be fun to try.

Only here to annoy...

I started here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari_Flashback

Which lead me to this: http://www.atarimuseum.com/fb2hacks/

Just do a Google search on "atari flashback 2 mod" (or "hack").
Then do a Google image search on "flashback 2 pcb".
There is also the picture of my board from a previous post:
This pinout picture helped too:

I had an old Atari chassis lying around which I ripped the cartridge slot out of.

I got 2 FB2s from two different ebay sellers for $5.00 each plus shipping.

Haha. I always lay out what I think is fairly valuable "garbage" in case the garbage man (or any passers-by) wants it.

I've been known to pull over and grab something from someone's trash on occasion. The chair my daughter sits on at the dinner table was a salvage... a little sanding, stain and varnish and it's a beautiful chair! Just make sure the neighbors don't see ya, they'll never stop talking about it.

The town I grew up in had "heavy pickup" days a couple times a year, where they would take all of the stuff you couldn't put in the normal garbage. All day long, you'd see people driving around picking up "free stuff". By the time the town trucks came around, they probably picked up about 10% of what had originally been put out. It was like Freecycle decades before Freecycle got started.
