HBMAME is a modern-day replacement for the outdated MisfitMAME.
Quote:
HBMAME (HomeBrew MAME) is a derivative of MAME, and contains various hacks and homebrews that are not included in MAME. It is based on the latest MAME source from SVN at the time of release.
New releases will occur either if a new homebrew becomes available, or a significant baseline improvement is made. Releases are not aligned to baseline.
All homebrews and most hacks are accepted. The hacks not accepted are free-play hacks, high-score hacks, and artwork hacks.
Keep an eye on this web page as updates could occur at any time:

That's great news!! Sorry for the silly question but I recall that there was a nasty hack of KOF with nudity(!!) in it... Is it in HBMAME? And if yes, which is the romset name before I start to going crazy scrolling the huge list? TIA and keep up the great work. Second question... Am I allowed to port MONACOGP to MAMEUIFX?
EDIT: Nevermind about KOF, found it by myself!

Er, I didn't know there is a nude KOF in there... oh well hopefully someone gets enjoyment from it.
As for MonacoGP, the question has been answered on your forum.

Out goes Tinker's MiSFiTMAME and in comes HomeBrew MAME or make it HBMAME (HomeBrew MAME).
MiSFiTMAME http://misfitmame.mameworld.info/ This classic is not supported in MAME due to the fact that it relies heavily upon analog circuitry rather than ROMs, as do nearly all games written after 1976. I wouldn't bet on seeing it in MAME anytime soon. Monaco G.P. --
With Monaco G.P. being a 2-board game and not being a 3 or 4 board game like a few other non-cpu games (Computer Space or Electra's Flying Fortress), maybe a chance it might be supported earlier than those games that is depending if logic functions aren't overwhelming.
Interesting that PMC Electronics Wham Bam uses 3 or 4 pcbs all hooked up to a main motherboard. The visual appearance might look like pong, but it has options that original pong doesn't support.

I haven't looked at HBMAME source yet but you can find it easily on some blogs... search with Google for KF97XXX for example... (not KOF or you'll get a ton of Hentai Porn results.... :P)

What a shitty hack - they've just replaced a couple of frames in some of Mai's animations with nudes. I was hoping for a full nude cast.

I think a list on the webpage showing all the available hacks might be nice. I never tried misfit mame until just before it was discontinued because there was wasn't a good explaination of the types of games it included. I would hate to see someone else miss out.

I get an error with the recommended frontend, Tafoid's ML TNG. Also i get a crash with mame+ GUI. And CLRmame cant import the sets from this mame.
EDIT: But the emulator works well. Only frontends or clrmame gives me errors.

ML TNG worked fine here if you put the 2 extra files on the page into the folder and rename the exe to mame.exe.

Doesn't seem to support -listxml command so clrmame usage is not happening.
Quote:
Usage: HBMAME [game] [options]
HBMAME -showusage for a brief list of options HBMAME -showconfig for a list of configuration options HBMAME -listmedia for a full list of supported media HBMAME -createconfig to create a hbmame.ini
For usage instructions, please consult the files config.txt and windows.txt.

After the first failed run, ML writes a file called "favorite.ml" which you can edit to items to your liking (as detailed in documents). Find the line "executable_name=" and change the emulator name to "hbmame" - then save the file. Yes, you need FMOD.DLL and ZLIB1.DLL somewhere in your path. Most systems will have this already but there are downloads at my page right at the top.

I already have the 2 files. But i renamed to mame.exe and i get this:
Loading FAVORITES Listing ¹ Determining EMULATOR/VERSION ¹ Loading RESOURCE.ML File Corrupt or Missing. Cannot continue..
and without the listxml i cant rebuild nor manage the rom files with clrmame. Sorry, but the emu is useless without that feature.

When you extract the front-end.. make sure you extract all files contained inside to the folder where hbmame resides. "resource.ml" is included in the package and is needed if you choose to use for many of the other emulators it supports.
-listxml works just fine so long as it's captured (like all other UI versions) to a file: hbmame -listxml > hbmame.xml

What does clrmamepro say? Have you tried other rom managers?

(using the same configuration for normal mame)
say: "Set (no description)/ (no setname) wasn´t imported" over and over. I press Accept and the same message pop ups again, and i press accept a hunderd times and continue over and over.

Tafoid and I looked at the problem and I believe we have found the answer. It will be in the next release which could be later today. And as a bonus there's a few more games.

Admit it, you're gay for Benimaru, too. Everyone's gay for Benimaru. Also Athena - what's the point of a nude hack without nude Athena?

K2K2BNS.ZIP looks more interesting judging by intro, still have to play the game though. It's a KOF2002 fully decrypted set so it's easy to add to MAME source...
