That's totally me. When I need to get something done, I learn enough code to get the job done, in short term memory no less, and so then when I go back later to do something and encounter it again, I can never remember why or how the hell I did that... I just know not to mess with it because that version of me obviously knew what he was doing at the time.

I wrote this one at work a few months ago, just to amuse myself on a slow day, and then accidentally checked it in:
case: NavigateDirection_LastChild // Just a punk in the street
I quietly reverted it in the next checkin, I don't think too many of my coworkers are Aerosmith fans.

I've done that a few times. Find some really awful code - "Who the fuck wrote this?!?" - Look at the file history - "Ah shit, I did."
