I completely agree, with the added note that Voyager had less of a hill to go down.
And you can't handle my mother.

Voyager's last season was quite good.
I would like to hear from someone who has a mother I haven't already dog raped.

The animated series was pretty good throughout its run but with only a couple dozen episodes it didn't have much time to jump the shark.

That's why they cancel series, because they go downhill

Mostly. So it's likely that the last season of a series is worse than the rest.

Generate many offspring.
Become less attractive as they age.

They all had decent episodes in their last season, even DS9 did after they jumped the shark in the baseball episode. I just don't know why they have to do it every time. The original series was only 3 seasons and the 3rd is clearly under par, overall. It hasn't jumped the shark but it's skiing in shark infested salty waters.

The key phrase was something about cats can go uphill, or however that saying went.
But your answers work too.
