Is solar assault "working"?

i tried now Solar assault,it is marked as working,though when i start it is stuck at the eeprom check at the beginning with a "bad eeprom" or something like that.on the countrary,wave shark,on the same hardware,it is marked as not working,and it is working instead..o_O

If the romset eeprom should ever fail, you should be able to use the 'Konami Salute'. The procedure most everyone who uses/used mame should know is to Hold F2 then Tap F3 after which the game restarts the eeprom message should be gone.

To clarify the order: hold down F2, tap F3, and *keep holding down F2* until you see a message about "initializing". I call it the Konami Neck Pinch (which fits the current Emuchat banner image), but Salute works too

hmhm didn't knew about that Vulcan technique..does it works with other non-konami games?

No, there's a reason I call it the "Konami Neck Pinch". It works on pretty much every Konami game from 1987 to 2003 or so though.
