I just downloaded it and played a few times, I like it. Looks nice and plays well. Very Commando, but maybe a little less frantic. Very nice.

I'm really loving this game.
It feels so true. Like a minor Japanese developer which saw Commando at the arcades and decided to create his own clone back in, say, 1986, following a similar path but with differences in taste.
There's plenty of neat little touches, which show a clear vision of what you wanted to achieve with your game and graphic design. The deliberate one-dimension plot is perfectly Eighties, and the over-the-top moments (such as the monk statues meditating when you got their power up) are exhilarating.
Also, this is a formidable showcase for your Arcade Game Studio. Congratulations for this achievement!

Congratulations !
If we were in 80'ties this game would be a real arcade hit !
Just one complain :
- Where is "Press START to continue" phrase ?
Without that feature, I am completely helpless  You know, with years I lose some of my gaming capabilities

i just tried it out, what a fantastic feel to the game, it's like something bart might play at the arcade in the simpsons ;]
i hope to run your game in my arcade cab when i have finished building it
again, thanks for your wonderful work and sharing (i'm loving that cave game you made also)
