DDR 573 Output signals
#300376 - 12/10/12 08:09 PM

Does anyone know about how the 573 handles outputs? And when I say that, I mean what voltage and ampage it uses. I want to run 12v Halogen lights and two PC CCFL tubes (from inverter) for DDR. I never expected to run anything directly from the board, but I need to know what relays to get and/or if I need more componants to do so. I assume it's only a high/low output but still, knowing the two would help.

BTW, I don't have a 573, but I want to have almost everything ready anyway (and regardless could use them on MAME in the meantime) for when I do hopefully next year.

No I don't know, I was going to do something similar but never got round to it. It might be possible to figure it out from the buffers on the board, but mine are currently boxed up. If I get to them then I'll take a look (I have two, one has what looks like a dead fishermans bait board & the other has a ddr digital board in it).

I assume the ddr analogue and ddr digital has the same outputs for lighting, but I'd assume you're getting a digital I/o board anyway.

Both correct, since the lights connect to the mainboard IRC not the Digital board. I've already bought the lights and got wiring in my head so the only obstacle is the connector for the main board output.

The 10-pin Red Connector is the light output and is connected to the digital i/o board actually, hence why it only appears on Bemani games.

However I assume consider the original board seems to hook directly to the relays (without looking at the board I can't confirm but anyway), I suppose I shouldn't have much on an issue.

The output pins are typical High Low values and when the 573 wants to activate the lights it grounds one half of the relay coil (the other is constantly connected to 12v) to activate it and thus turn the light on.

Should of seached my emails with Christian from years back before asking but oh well.

Good to see you figured it out. What part of the UK are you in?

With DDR there is always something to see

I actually neither own the cab nor the game. Yet. The nearest cab I know of is in the bolwing centre miles out, but they have DS EuroMIX 1 and 2 and a couple of others of my favorites like Time Crisis 4.

Its been six years since I regularly played, so I wouldn't embarrass myself.

I found a DDR 8 board for around $250 inc. shipping but I haven't the money especially since we're nearing christmas. Once I do, I 'm snapping on it unless I find a cheaper Digital 573.

You'd be playing against a social-awkward 17 year old who can barely keep up on normal and hasn't played in years either.

I'd think we'd be even, lol.
