Watching Locomalito's newest developments
#299778 - 11/25/12 05:27 AM

Maldita Castilla is a faithful tribute to the classic platformer Ghosts ‘n Goblins and many other games from the arcade era of the mid-80′s. The current demo offers 1 level with boss fight.

The game is still in development but if it follows the same trends as Locomalito's other releases it'll be a free download. Looks promising.

NOW AVAILABLE! new [Re: Hizzout]

Maldita Castilla is now available to download, for free as predicted.

It plays very similar to Ghosts N' Goblins, albeit slower, and a bit easier although it is kind of difficult so don't be too relaxed while playing.

Having a secondary upgrade is a nice touch, and it has some built in scanlines and monitor effects that make it seem like a perfect fit in the retro gaming genre.

Worth a download IMO. And just like every other Locomalito game, with a bit of control tweaking, it plays great in a homebrew cab.

Locomalito does it again!

I love the old school cover and disc art for his games. My laptop has a lightscribe drive, I'm tempted to burn a disc just so I can put the art on it.

Not too bad.

If you recall (They came from) Verminest... The music in that put me in the mind of a Ghosts n' Goblins type of game.

My two fav games he's made are Hydorah and Endless Forms Most Beautiful

He certainly captures the 8-bit arcade and NES feel in his games.

And if you liked this game... new [Re: Tomu Breidah]

Here's one I linked a while back, Arvoesine which is similar, but for some reason reminds me of Kid Icarus for the NES. Really fun, retro styled game.
