I can't remember why but for some reason back in 98-99 I came upon this NOAA webpage:

Back then it was a simple page with four sounds and their analysis of each.
The "Bloop", "Up Sweep", "Whistle" and the last one I don't remember the name they gave it, might be the "Slow Down"???
I still have those four sounds copied on every HD I've taken out of old PC's and on many optical and magnetic forms of media that have existed since.
So tonight I'm at the parents house for Thanksgiving trying to avoid all that goes along with that and so start flipping thru the TV channels.
I put it on the Animal Planet or Channel or whatever just because there was NOTHING on and I don't have that channel at my house and there was a BIGFOOT show on so Fuck It Bigfoot Thanksgiving!
During the show which I didn't get to really see I did see the adds for the Mermaid program on later and didn't really think about it.
After dinner the Mermaid show is on and they bring up the "Bloop"!!!
I believe it's "Mermaid, The body found" on Animal Planet.
I don't know what to make of it but I know for a fact that sound has been available from NOAA since 98-99 and that is one hell of a story!

That show was complete fabrication, including the actors playing scientists. The "Bloop" was the only reality contained within.
