Star Fire uses discrete circuits for sound. True emulation likely remains years away.

The source code came from David Rolfe, one of the 3 programers. David was also kind enough to provide me the hardware half of my Star Fire Cabinet. Another friend had a spare chair, and thus the cockpit was reborn. Reviewing the source code and game video helped to correct the colors in emulation a couple years back.

Didn't you use to have the source code and the samples uploaded here before? Did the thread get deleted? (If so, you need a better host...)

If you mean accurate sound emulation, you should have checked the newest MAME yourself instead of bumping a 3 year old thread.
Anyway. The game still relies on samples. A ROM update isn't needed. It looks like you can download the samples from this forum thread right here.
