It almost always happens when you run compile with multiple cores.. (-j option) but it doesn't effect anything. I wouldn't worry.

OK. I'm using -j 3 on my dual core i3 laptop, so that makes sense.
Has anyone reported this to the GCC folks? Or is it mingw specific?
i.e. does it happen on linux too?

Just your terminal window getting confused when the output from multiple concurrent processes gets interleaved. There's no bug to report.

It's specific to Windows' console; it doesn't happen on Linux or Mac OS X. And it's harmless anyway.
