I have a Pachislo machine where even on the lowest volume setting is still really loud. Remember they're in casinos with tons of other machines to compete with.
I opened the speakers and put a couple cotton balls in the speaker cone and that helped a lot. Even made the bass sound better IMO.
I use that cotton ball trick on the many annoying kids toys around the house too.

It is a Galaxy Railways from Japn. I will try and take some better pics on this three day weekend.I got the finish pic from http://www.pachitalk.com. You have to register to look at pics on their forum. I giggle to my self when I read "ball lifter" on the site.

I never understood the point/attraction to pachinko or whatever it is.
I played one once... it was just a million little balls shooting all over the place randomly making their way through the machine, and the ball shooter just seemed to be a randomizer of sorts with no means of imparting any skill into it (like pinball)... and when the game was over I was like, "That's it?"
What am I missing... it's just a shower of little balls for a few seconds, and then some score appears, which was earned by I don't know how.
It's so popular, I'm obviously missing the point somewhere... can you help?

Hi d00d,
I have a Pink Panther one
Check out pachitalk for "volume pot mod".
I was fortunate to have mine modded before winning it.

Ralph.

My (admittedly limited) understanding is that they are basically like slot machines. All of the action and lights and whatever are just window dressing, the real appeal is in winning money.
