OK... the new tools on the MAME website isn't working on the patching part.
#294146 - 08/21/12 12:15 AM Attachment: not patching.png 71 KB (2 downloads)

Any reason why it open up another cmd for this as well? Older tools didn't do this.

My batch file set up as.

set path=c:\mingw\mingw64-w64\bin
patch -p0 -E <0146u5.diff
pause

Maybe file been corrupted? I will re-download the tools.

OK Microsoft updates somehow link this. So I change it name to get it to work. Fix now. Anyone else ran into this problem. All you have to do is rename it. Call it pat for short word.

Mine patches fine with new tools but it is not compliling. Something is missing:

MAME or MAME with build in frontend? new [Re: cyberdman]
#294155 - 08/21/12 03:30 AM

I didn't have any problem building the plain MAME at all.

Letting others help you on that problem.

Try deleting the obj and then try again. I been deleting the obj after I build the MAME.

Known thing....either you rename patch.exe to something else or use a manifest file (which was part of the old tools iirc). If you already run patch.exe you need to use regedit and delete the found entries for it and then use the manifest file.
