DU Update: Most wanted clone

ShouTime got and is dumping my personal most wanted clone, the Japan version of Thunder Zone. Why is it so spayshull, you bluntly ask. Well it's pretty much a totally different game than the versions we have. The gameplay difficulty is where it was before being jacked up to quartersuck in "export" arcades. I've heard it's possibly to clear it in 1 credit with enough practice. Also, many of the graphics are different as it isn't catered to the popular US war of the era. I've never played it so I can't say much else but I've been looking for it for a long time.

Yeah, that's pretty bizarre. The arctic scene is presumably the original, but the guy looks dressed way more appropriately for the desert.

The guy in the Japanese Version screenshot could pass for being a long lost cousin of Billy Kane from Fatal Fury 2.

judging from the screenshots, it seems that instead of a generic "desert storm" plot, it would look like Data East was trying to have some sort of pseudo-G.I. Joe thing going on.
