DU Update: Prototype heaven in the big blue sea where it's too cold to surf and it's too warm to ski
#292794 - 07/29/12 06:59 PM

Antonio Gonzalez Jr. is sorting through his prototypes from Romstar for us. So far we got:

Ghosts'n Goblins (Romstar prototype)
Pipi & Bibis (Romstar prototype)
Pop Shot (sequel to Skeet Shot) (Romstar prototype)

More on the way, too. Also Andrew Welburn dumped Bomber which is an Alca version of Scramble and ShouTime got the Japan version of GP Rider.

From what I've learned from Tony, he explained that at some point during the game, after beating a few stages, the game ends with a text that says "To Be Continued".

In this interview, Tony Gonzalez hints that the company behind Skeet Shot, Dynamo, had (family) ties to Disney: http://gdri.smspower.org/wiki/index.php/Interview:Tony_Gonzalez

Interesting info there.

Familiar portion of the interview.

For the input in general, we tested on locations and got changes needed to bring up earnings. Sometimes you could get an incredible dog. I still have a one-of-a-kind arcade game in one of my sheds on the farm. Two TVs, separate control design. It was way too difficult and earned something like three dollars a week.

Great to know the game is preserved even if there are remaining issues to be fixed later.
