For me MAME is all about gaming and having fun with the high score challenges. I think we should have a thread of members' gameplay vids. INP's are pretty tough to execute as they're all dependent of the MAME version. YouTube is much easier way to share your stuff.

I guess I will have to be happy with the C&D one. Still up since the movie was based on the game, and not the other way around like Indy Jones, so the MPAA has no say. I'm a little surprised the two movie games in the first post aren't blocked as well, all things considered.
Arguably, one of the cheapest arcade games of all time.

We are glad to help you but simply posting that something does not work is not going to lead to you getting help. The more information you can supply defining your problem, the less likely it will be that you will get smart-alec replies.
Not sure if this is what people want to see in this thread but I’ve been putting together gameplay compilation videos for certain control types. I've finished videos with clips of just about every light gun and trackball game I could get working. I made these for people who are on the fence about getting some of these alternate control types. I am working on spinner videos next.

I always thought it would be cool to get the top DK players to play the patched version in MAME. The record in DK is all about how many points you can manage to cram in before the kill screen. It would be interesting to see how high the scores would go if it were a marathon game like Missile Command.
The shitty thing about mame videos I see on youtube is they are at 30 fps and don't do any blending to make up for the frame tosses. Mame records a perfect copy of about double that and then youtube just drops every other frame so nothing looks how it should. It's all choppy. It doesn't happen when you record a pcb through svideo even if you are recording at 30 fps, you get a more correct blend of frames. The easiest game to see the damage aside from jerkiness on is probably Dangun Feveron. The pickup men have a translucent red made by flickering on and off quickly. If you record it from a board it preserves the translucency, uploaded mame recordings have it blink on for a second then off which looks completely incorrect.
One interesting thing with this video is that it shows an ingame bug of the game (besides the number of lives) : once you reach 9.999.990 points, you get an extra life each time you shoot an enemy, so you could almost play this game for ever !
Now I wonder if all sets (inclunding bootlegs) are affected by such bug ...

Yep true. Not many people will score 9.999.990 points though.
I have scored over 1 million in NAMCO Xevious as well. It's considerably easier than the Atari ROM set.
Atari set has the 4 S-flags in different positions and I believe the ATARI normal difficulty is equivalent to NAMCO hardest. Never been able to complete the ATARI version myself.
