I didn't realize that a fire was so close to Manitou Springs. The arcade there is certainly a treasure and I would hope that there is some kind of evacuation plan for it because some of the nickel and mech-operated games there are probably some of the last in existence, certainly in working order.

I love that place. The arcade, the town, Savelli's Pizza....be a damned shame to lose any of it. Might retire there.

Looks to be in the clear now though, Evacuation lifted for most of Manitou.

I think we ate there when we were on vacation back in 2005.

Driving home from work yesterday I could see the smoke plume from that area. Looked pretty big but it's nothing compared to the fire that's been raging in Ft. Collins for the past couple weeks.

A new fire started up in Boulder in the last couple of days too...in fact it's been one of the busiest wildfire seasons that I can recall.

I have friends near all three, been monitoring closely. That one up north is a bear, but I'm really concerned About where the Waldo and boulder fires are headed.

I was in Colorado for a big one in '02 (hayman maybe?)...but this season certainly seems like it isn't going to stop here.

Stay safe colo-rad-ins....

Here's a picture of a friend's Air Force Academy apartment. It's in the black part of the smoke. Her old apartment
should be gone by lunchtime.

And the Flying W Ranch has burned down. Sad, as most Colorado natives as myself usually have a childhood memory from there. Awesome chuck wagon styled dinner and entertainment. They used to have pistol shooting shows and rodeo shows too. It's very sad to lose this Colorado landmark.
