The pump type not the shitty steam. I'm convinced it extracts things from the beans that drip coffee can't. You whores! You're all a bunch of ice cream and cookie dunking SLUT WHORES WITH YOUR DICK IN THE CEREAL BOX. POUR MILK ON IT.

I got this one for Gatinha's birthday... no motorized pump or steam to push the water thru the grind, you force it through under pressure with the manual pump! And yes, pressure does do something drips can't... not sure what it is... I don't drink the mud, but she swears by it.

That looks totally badass but well beyond my means. I got mine for around $75 on ebay which is the going rate for used but working of this model I got, but mine was just a floor model, never used. So I'm happy with the price. The one you showed I'm sure is hmm, probably retails for $500 or more. Oh wait I looked it up. Yeah, more. Basically you need a pressure one if you want it to taste like espresso from a cafe.

If it's just the strong/thickness that you don't like you should try Americano which is espresso with added hot water. The end result is no stronger tasting than coffee, you just keep adding hot water until it tastes right. Then you would at least get the same effects I'm talking about, which are different from drip coffee no matter how much you drink. Go for it broseph.

I just sold a Rancilio "Silvia" Espresso Machine V1 with the "Rocky" grinder and metal stand/base (and a bunch of other accessories) for $800 back in March. I think the package cost around $950 new many years ago, so it held its value pretty well.

Of course not. But I wouldn't be surprised if the taste is different because the pressure allows to extract (in fact dissolve) less rather than more.

I've heard people say the same thing about tea, and my reply is still: Not if you drink as much of it as I do. Just make more. The "buzz" or whatever you want to call it is way better. Light years.

It's true about tea indeed, for the same reason: Caffeine is water-soluble, so the longer the water stays to more caffeine is taken. I suspect the pressure makes it possible to have the water leach less of whatever it is you (and a lot of other people) don't like.
