Help... 80's Arcade (late), 1 on 1 fighting, swords, armour, need to know

Hi, I hope I'm in the correct room (new here).
I am desperate to find out the name of this game.
I would say late 1980's.
One on one fighting duels.
Main character has a sword, and wears armour.
Baddies have various weapons, and armour.
The aim is to hack away at the armour until it buckles or flies off, before the same happens to you.
Different weapons have different grades of power.
Really good graphics for the time.
I really want to know what it is and if it is a MAME rom.

Don't forget the shields, and the parts of the stage you walk through where you block various flying objects.
One of my top faves.
