I kept looking over it, because it made me think EmuLoader. (Not to mention the new header squinching everything...) I was all, where the fuck is MAMEChat??
So, is there a story (that I looked for and didn't find) on this?

It's a wip. Not sure if my pixel skills could remove that text without screwing up the pink. Because of the gradient.

What would look better in my opinion is 2 smaller logos side by side. Put MESS on the left and then the MAME logo from Kale's page looks very nice

This one you are seeing is the "generic" MW one for now. We could do something like your idea for this board only, if you can make one that looks good. I haven't even had time to finish my other site updates so don't look at me. I've asked if anyone wants to make new MW logos and got zero response.

If someone can just kill the text and smooth out the blue border I think it'd look pretty cool. Nice 80s colors, and no MAME copyright infringement.

It has updated a few times, not sure which version you are on, you might have to refresh. I haven't been able to do anything with the text but the blue outer is smoothed. As for the copyright quote, that's retarded.

There isn't one. grog sent in this Wayne and Garth one which is currently at news and chat but if there is a dedicated chat one then it could be moved around to maybe news and bin.

You don't necessarily have to say so much with it / define what we do. I like the cartoony feel, definitely don't want any email icons in there though. My 2 cents so far.

Yeah maybe lighter overall, like start and end with brighter shades, and make it bigger, like it with 6-7 clear pixels on top and bottom equals 130 pixels high image.

Looks good, maybe still needs a slightly lighter end shade on the right? Gets quite dark. And center it down 1-2 pixels.

That's a pain in the ass tweak I'll have to do on my end (can look different whether it's Firefox or IE or a new post or a reply) and I basically have to fiddle with numbers until it looks right on everything. I'll do it later.

Actually it looks like you aren't viewing at default size, you've maybe Ctrl-mouse scrolled. I might not be able to get it to look right with all the sizes, might not be possible. But the real size is smaller that what you posted (see attachment). I need to dig into the theme code and just make it a gradient background instead of the line crap.
