Can I use clrmamepro on my desktop but use it for roms on a ext USB 2.0 ?

I have all my roms on a ext usb 2.0 HDD. Can I still use clrmamepro just fine through usb 2.0 ? If it does work fine will the speed take a hit due to scanning and fixing or won't matter ? thanks

In the future, such questions are better asked on the clrmamepro message board as your question has nothing at all to do with this sub forum.

clrmamepro will work just fine and it doesn't really matter if your scanning internal or external drives. The time it takes is roughly the same.

yes it works. since external usb drives (2.0) are usually way slower than internal sata ones, a scan/rebuld/etc will be slower, too
