I built a Mame arcade about a year ago, giving me as much headaches as it does enjoyment. I keep trying to add emulators and newer games to it, but it just makes it less and less stable. Like Ps2, Ps1, batch file games, and other 3D games making me change out my PC parts for better ones and try to make everything work with 64 bit Win 7. Now I'm just dropping all that 3D nonsense and going back to the basics, MAME, Nes, Snes, and Genesis. On WinXp 32 bit, when everything worked with zero issues.
Anyone else ever been down this road? ESPECIALLY when trying to get PCSX2 to work properly, and just ended up forgetting it and going back to basics?
for all the other stuff like snes, genesis, nes, psx ... u might as well just get a caanoo (i set one up recently for my brother and was impressed that all of the emulators mentioned above run at FULL speed on the caanoo)....
(there's a guy called BAFELTON who has released an emulator pack which is all set up already.. u just copy it to your sd card of the caanoo, and then add roms. he updated it recently also which he mentions in his comments at the bottom of this link:
Well if you have a 9800GTX thats a nvidia card, did you mean to say the AMD processor? Well that is true,PCSX2 does run much better with its sse4 plugin, you can still get decent FPS with that processor.
Have you tried enabling any of the speedhacks? Also keep in mind T5 is very resource heavy game.
Yea i meant to say the AMD CPU isn't very good for PCSX2. I can try some speedhacks when I get home later. I did get a speed increase when I OCed the CPU, but not enough. The odd thing is Tekken Tag Tournament for ps2 runs worse than Tekken 5. Really the main issue isn't just Tekken 5, but that all of the Ps2 games I have for my arcade just run differently. And I can't go and change the setting in Maximus Arcade whenever I load them up. I wish it was possible to get 60fps on every game without so much hassle.
And I see on youtube people playing Tekken 5 at full speed with similar hardware but worse specs than me.
