In the meantime, the PlayStation version is a top notch conversion and runs perfectly in pSX.
It takes a while to get used to the controls though.

It's just standard ISO excavator controls though, isn't it? At least the arcade version was IIRC.

Yeah, now try that with a Dual Shock controller!

Everyday I'm shovelin...
I'm just reminiscing about when I was a young kid playing in the park's sandbox that had the mechanical scoop'n'shovel in the middle.
You couldn't do much with it but sit, swivel around 360° and dig. And did ya did! :-)
Sadly, most of those old playgrounds of my youth got makeovers. I forget if it was the playground in the Freeport Pennsylvania Community Park or in the playground across from the Rainbow tavern.
In the latter playground before it got remodeled it had a very high sliding board that was about 14-16 feet high! Now it's all coming back to me! That's where The Shoveler was!
No, not William H. Macy! The aforementioned sit-down-'n'-swivel sandbox toy!
Anyway, those PC liberals have got to go! Those fools who think they're protecting kids by getting rid of awesome playground stuff that can best complement Tonka toys! And the irony is that they're for birth control, abortion, and "safe" sex outside of marriage! Where's the Teabaggers when they aren't teabagging each other?
All ya need is a sandbox made of concrete with a sit'n'swivel scoop'n'shovel. Filled with sand. And Tonka toys. That's all I'm sayin'. Dem kids'll ruin silicon that's made more intricate than powder out there! No winders'er'mac attackin' 'ere! Hey, it's green ya treehuggers! No electricity required! Just a nice sunny day! :-)
When I was your age I was nine! :-p
