Rod is the guy that built tha Pac-Man "show rod" you may have seen pics of around the interwebs. From what I've read, it started as an egg-shaped car for Robin Williams' Mork character but he quit the show before it was done. It was then reshaped into the Pac-Man car. According to Rod, the car still exists but he doesn't know where it is. There's some great shots of the car I've never seen before attached to some of the posts below.

Sadly it seems it was not drivable, just for display.

When I was a kid I used to go to the World of Wheels custom car show every year, and the "program" they sold every year was a magazine called Hot Rod Show World which was basically just pics of cars (and bikini babes). The first time I saw the Pacman rod was when it was featured in the 1983 or '84 edition.

I never noticed that the engine was mounted transversely in the back like that. I wonder if it was even tied to the wheels at all? In the early 80s, I don't think there were any transmissions for that configuration capable of handling the power of a V8.
