Need help with chdman createraw

I have a 512 MB CHD that i used in MESS for DOS/Windows. And when i want to add programs to it i used CHDMAN first
to create a raw file, then WinImage for adding files and again CHDMAN to create a none compressed CHD.
Now that *big* changes comes to CHDMAN i can't create a RAW CHD. The command for this is:
chdman createraw -i old.chd -o new.raw -hs 4096 -us 512 -c none -f
But CHDMAN hangs! I used the newest version of CHDMAN (r15618 - 6th March).
It only works in VirtualBox (XP System). Yes... VirtualBox.
Is there a buffer problem with the Windows command-line?
Another problem is, that CHDMAN always created a compressed RAW file (345 MB and not 512). I can't open it with WinImage

Thou shalt not use chdman in the 145u* cycle until it's fixed....

That's wrong. For writable MESS CHDs you now use createhd with the "-c none" parameter.

CHDMAN now doesn't write out sectors that are all zeroes. Thus, uncompressed CHDs are often much smaller than they used to be; this does not indicate they are compressed however, and writing to the CHDs inside MESS will cause them to grow appropriately.

Kinda defeats the point of a u release cycle if nobody is willing to test

Yes, but there was sufficient testing early on to determine that you really shouldn't be doing mass upgrades until 0.146 (although u4 will have both the GD-ROM and laserdisc issues solved).
