They're a good deal different in terms on content, I believe. Netflix has a very big offering in movies, but they might be less current on tv shows than Hulu. I have not tried Hulu Plus, but have been with Netflix since the dawn of time and find their $8 streaming to be a great value. I'd be interested in hearing more about Hulu Plus. I was not impressed by their video quality, though, it seemed more compressed than Netflix.
I think netflix is better for movies and entire older series of TV shows. Hulu Plus is better for watching the current series of a TV show. Usenet is good for both and can cost about the same as either.
Netflix is better integrated into Windows Media Center and is easier to use with a harmony remote on my htpc than Hulu is. Hulu can only be used on a computer unless you have Plus, and also has ads whether you pay for Plus or not.
If I had to pick one, I would choose usenet. If I didn't wear a pirate hat and had to pick one, it would be Netflix.
Doesn't look like it would do much for me. My TV already has Pandora and Netflix and Hulu+ and what not. I just have to decide which subscriptions to actually pay for. I'm giving Netflix a shot at the moment since I can try it for a month for free

Just got my parents a Roku XD or whatever the top-end model is for Christmas. The wireless connection is a bit flaky, but that could just be their oddly-designed house. I've been meaning to wire it up to the network switch in their home theater setup, but I didn't set it up and it's behind a squirrel's nest of cables wedged behind the BluRay player.
I don't like that using PlayOn would require them to use their PC as a streaming media server though.
