CHD files - ZIP error (file not found)

I've updated all my MAME .chd files to the latest updates and they are working fine with latest 145u3. But when I compact the files to a .zip file, MAME won't recognize them anymore (it says that there are missing files), but they are all in the zip file. WHen I extract the files to the ROMS folder, they work fine again.
Which program/settings should I use to generate proper .zip files from CHD files? Am I doing something wrong? I usually do .zip and .rar files with WinRAR. But I tried WinZip and it gives me the same results.

CHDs are already compressed. They do not belong in ZIP files.

But some of them were working zipped! MACE, TENTHDEG and PRIMRAG2 were working zipped here. But after applying the recent 145u1 patch, they do not work anymore. Even zipping in storage only mode, without any extra compression. I just don't understand why.

Pure luck. They were NEVER designed to go into Zips and you are wasing RAM needlessly and time loading these mult-meg/gig images into RAM when it has no effect. They were desinged to be loaded from the game name's directory and nothing else.
