Black Widow performance question

Some time round or after .107, the speed of the game was 'slowed'. This was apparent on the slow scrolling of the level select screen, which now seems fixed. But the game is still slow. I checked the FPS in-game, and except for after the game was over, constantly got 100% or better.
Does this hardware have slow-downs, like or similar to Robotron?
Or is something weird happening, which only shows up in the FPS at game's end?

Does looking over the changelogs for the game and also the driver here shed any light?

No. I reported that bug. Apparently it hasn't been fixed...or something worse is wrong, now.
