Not sure when/what version, but it appears there may have been a relatively recent update which cleared mapping/controls - at least to Battlezone.
It made me think there might be interest from others - if not in the know already - on how to map the inputs so you can maneuver the tank with one controller. A picture is worth a thousand words, so see the attached. 
This is using a HotRodSE, but the idea is the same for any controller.
