Logiqx MAME .dat file 0.145
#275494 - 02/08/12 12:47 AM

Hi all,

Any idea where a current 0.145 .dat file can be had? I used to always pick up the Logiqx version, but it doesn't look like it's been updated since 0.140.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason

I'm curious why you would need it if you already have the 0.145 binary? The data is extracted by the rom manager (eg. cmpro) from the binary itself (using -listxml contents).

Is there a reason I don't know about that people need external dats like that?

Hi Tafoid,

Apologies if I sound ignorant, but I use the Maximus Arcade front end with MAME. Within MA there is a Dat option where I can browse to the latest dat file that corresponds to the build that I have. Same thing with catver.ini. I exported one from clrmamepro with the latest build, but whenever I do this, the .dat file that I created has a funky game list. If I use the one that Logiqx creates, my game list is fine. I thought this file was what was needed to create the game list in my front end.

Maybe I'm misusing the file.

Thanks,
Jason

No idea. Most front-ends will read the -listxml output themselves for games lists or at the very least, use -listfull to show a full list of games in MAME. I have to assume you can produce a "DAT" for yourself by capturing the -listxml output to a file via command-line:

mame -listxml > mame145.dat

Cool thanks! Loading the rom dat populates the list just fine.
