I had a 4.7 a couple of days ago and didn't even notice. The epicenter was only like 40km away. But the 9.1... I'll never forget that one and the epicenter was over 400km away!

Just broke my personal record for number of consecutive days without dying!

Pffffft. I don't even get out of bed for less than 6.0

But god forbid if it should rain a quarter inch here; 3x more accidents and 10mph on the freeway =p

// if it ever snows here... well... I. Just. Don't. Know.

RELAX and just have fun. Remember, it's all about the games.

LOL, so true. Californians are just the absolute worst at coping with any kind of "weather"; the quarter-inch of rain example is spot-on. It's just astoundingly ridiculously bad. For real giggles, go to Baldy or Big Bear immediately following the first snow of the season...

Disclaimer: I'm a California native, but have lived in places with actual weather too.

We survived a 7.1 quake a couple of years ago.

Yet our entire hometown flooded with two inches of rain late last year.

Although the quake wasn't centered in Connecticut, last August there was an Earthquake on the east coast that was felt up here. The building I work in tends to shake whenever anybody walks, but I remember feeling it move around quite a bit for a longer period than normal, and then finding out shortly thereafter that it was an Earthquake.

The ground shouldn't move like that. lol.

I'm still pissed that I missed that one. Apparently my office in South Boston shook noticeably, and I'll bet you could have felt it in my house. I happened to be walking down a busy street at the time and never felt a thing.

I remember that one. I was in a meeting and we heard a big thud and someone said oh that must be the copy machine paper delivery. Turned out there was no delivery that day. Then we heard about the quake afterwards but never figured out what the thud was. I was in the building at the corner of A St. and W. 2nd at the time.

Oooh, you're right near the meatpie place. I keep meaning to get down there for lunch, but it's a bit of a hike from Summer St.
