ddragon2 - wrong dipswitch settings??

I've been reading the Double Dragon II original arcade manual and the default dipswitches differs from the latest MAME driver settings (the ones from the 2nd dipswitch). The MAME settings lets the game much harder to play.

Would it be the case of restoring the factory settings from the manual? Or it's changed in MAME for some obscure purpose?

In many cases, manuals were not available when games were added to MAME so the default dips are educated guesses. Post this at MAMETesters, ideally with a link to an online source for the manual.
