Sorry if this has been discussed before or if I'm totally blind, but is there a way to hide the top menu during emulation by default? File->Hide Menubar works for the session but it comes back if I exit and run another one. Seems to be a MESSUI-only feature because it doesn't exist in plain MESS. Can't find a way to disable it in any UI menu option and no option I change in any INI will disable it.
I could dive into the source, but just wondered why this is there by default and not able to be disabled.

Make sure your system is set up like this: http://messui.the-chronicles.org/howto.html
except where it says menu 1, change it to menu 0.

menu 0 was one of the first things I tried. Still pops up every time I run it.

Firstly check ini\[gamename].ini, if it says 0 there, look at ini\mess.ini, and .\mess.ini
If you don't have all those files, then your setup is not the same as in the howto link, and I couldn't say what the results would be.
