I use torrents to copy music/ videos that I have copied from cd's/dvd's that I purchased between my places of residence. My traffic, if VPN's weren't involved, would look as if I am stealing media. So if your databases of 15mil+ users was hacked, it could be used to waste my time.

And wasted 7.6 GB doing so. Wow, what a waste of good bandwidth. A terrible movie. If they had asked, I would have posted them my DVD to get it out of my house. 
And, in your post above, this is *the* lamest excuse I have ever heard:

Well, it's a good way to check if you had adequate countermeasures in place while downloading torrents

Also a good way to reveal yourself and register on a "keep an eye" list. Who downloads Thor anyway? you go to Blockbuster, rent it and transfer it using DVDFab. It's cheaper. Not that one of my relatives would do anything like that.
