Wii Remote Mouse and MAME

This application is pretty good for allowing me to browse the web and get around Windows with my Wiimote but I cannot seem to get MAME to notice my Wiimote as a mouse in gun games. Does anyone know if this is even possible?

I played around with this myself for a while. My understanding is that all of the Wiimote hacks go through DirectInput, while MAME uses raw input. To make it work, you would either need a custom MAME build that uses DirectInput or a real driver for the Wiimote.

As far as I understand it, that's correct. As I recall I had a little luck with emulators that do DirectInput, like Nestopia, but I didn't pursue it much further.
