Doing this as a poll on my site since I'm wondering what the percentages are on the big reasons (space, spouse, $$$, etc). Please click your reasons on my blog/poll at...
http://mamezach.blogspot.com/
Also, if you wish, describe the details here on the thread. The poll is good because of the numbers it draws to collect the data. My last poll (consoles you owned) got a smattering of anecdotal answers on the thread, but over 220 answers to the poll on the blog. Starting to collect a nice amount of interesting data.
Also have added a new Arcade game wars....Galaga won the last one over Tempest, T&F and Centipede.

The last console I owned was a Sega Dreamcast. If there's any temptation to get a new Console it would have to be to get an XBOX 360. But I suppose I'm too deep into playing older console games on emulators, some old favorite arcade games in MAME, and other venues, e.g. free sources of gaming.
From what I hear -here and there- is about new games needing patches, or a high-speed internet connection (I'm on DSL, not wifi/broadband -not sure if that would mean beans anyway), having to buy new content (more and more nickel & dime charges to get "premium" content), ....and the last time I messed around with a new console was at Wal-Mart in their electronic section. All I wanted to do was try a game... I had so much trouble navigating in the stupid menu... Maybe that's just for the store display/demo, I dunno... But that really put me off, making me think things have gotten so far ahead and I'm behind the gaming times.
eta: I hope my reply was satisfactory for the information you're wanting to gather.
