#262836 - 08/23/11 11:37 PM

Hey guys, time for my next question haha

Well i've built my cabinet out of a 7/8" thick MDF (I know that is too thick haha, but that was the onlu material i had laying around at home).

and i'm trying to find a Light blue T-Molding with the thickness of 7/8" does anyone know where i can find it or is it impossible?

Thx for the help in advance

I found some 1" HERE. Your choice of white or black. You might be able to dye the white stuff blue. You could probably use one of the veneer edge trimmers to make the molding flush with the wood or possibly a router with a flush trim bit.

I found 13/16" light blue HERE. Maybe you could break the edges of your wood to match it close enough?

Thanx allot for the effort m8, the problem when dying it will be that the color will probably crack when it bends around the cabinet, and grinding down the edges will be hard because as stupid as I am i colored the cabinet before considering to look around for the T-molding haha, so i'm a but stuck here haha :P

I think you could carefully run painter's tape around the edge of the flat surface to protect it and then use a router with a flush trim bit to trim the excess molding. After you remove the tape, the trimmed edge will be a few thousandths of an inch proud of the flat surface and you could clean that up with a sanding block or something. Perhaps there is a way to dye the molding after it is installed? Why not send that company an email and ask them if they can help you out? Maybe they can supply what you want.

Yeah i did send them an e-mail, hope they can figure something out anyways, i guess last resort would be putting on a larger t-molding and as you said trim off the access :P

thx m8
