I've been questioning the same myself and it looks like everyone is jumping around QMC2 now.
I have yet to performance it by myself (first I need to update my sets to the latest u builds), but judging for the screenshots it looks pretty good... and multi platform.
Developer is receiving so much feedback at MESS forums, so it's likely to improve even more.

this QMC2,is it a GUI? i never heard of it.Is there a FAQ on installing this?I hope i don't have to use command lines or anything cause i'm a noob and i always screw that up.

You will need to learn to use Tortoise SVN and knowing how to compile the latest SVN is a very good thing.
Lots of information @ bannister forums so you can learn a lot by reading there.

After checking the website, I'm pretty much lost here.I don't understand what that stuff is or means.Like the little turtle though.

you don't need anything like this, except if you want to compile the frontend by yourself and I seriously don't know why B2K24 has pointed you to the svn client instead of just pointing you to qmc2 website...
just follow redk9258's link above, anyway

I'll be updating it when I get the chance, but it should be fairly regular.

Because the one available on the official site is months old.
It's best to learn how to compile your own just like with MAME/MESS.
I was stuck for maybe a day until I learned exactly where to extract what and execute the correct make command (with help)

Given you seem to have a problem googling something like 'QMC2', I'm not surprised..... (I wonder....is it called '2' because there's an app called Quick Media Converter'?)
Zophar's has a decent listing of things. 'zophar' + 'mame' bring you right where you want to be.

Have you tried using the M+ GUI? It looks similar to MAMEUI's layout, but is an independent frontend that makes use of your MAME executable (and runs on Mac and Linux as well).
Here's a screenshot:
You should be able to get it from the MAME Plus site.

I REALLY want to promote this as THE MAMEUI-alike GUI on all platforms, but it really needs a "champion" - they let it go too long without updates and fixes. And most of the devs have dropped off the face of the Earth. 
Maybe I can talk QMC2 into adding a "MAMEUI clone" interface as a side project for shits and giggles.
