Hi all,
How can I take a screenshot without the shifter displaying in driving games ?

If you load up pole position II, press tab, and in video options, set to standard so the shifter disappears from bottom right, take an F12 screenshot and a garbled shifter display is still present.

you can use the -snapview option (either from command line or in mame.ini): check in the TAB > Video Options which views are available and which one gives you a screen with no gear on it, and use it as snapview value (I don't have here MAME to try and tell you which View is, sorry)
