Tub-thumpin' is a thinly veiled euphamism for butt-humping

When they sing that song, they're actually talking about poking poo!?!?!?

Funny, I always thought the song was a neo-conservative narrative on the mating habits of puffer fish.

I don't know - Matty could be onto something. "Tub" backwards is "but" and "thumping" contains "humping" in plain view.

You're on the right track, but you failed to notice that the 't' removed from 'thumping' to get 'humping' makes up the lacking part of 'butt' when you simply reverse 'tub'.

(Don't worry about the deniers - they've brainwashed themselves into believing what they want to believe.)

That's an American term. Tubthumping is the Brit answer to it.

Oh right like deny-er I thought you were making reference the tickness of tights for a second there... (I think the misses may have taken me on one too many clothes shopping trips!)

Misses? Is that like the plural of "Miss" meaning you go on clothes shopping trips with groups of nubile girls? Or is t an attempt to spell out "Mrs"?

Try "missus," or even "missis," though I've only seen it with the u. Has been traced back at least as far as 1790 in print as these spellings.
