Lots of shared stories between the two. And you thought Hollywood was out of ideas.
Sargon of Akkad <> Moses
Epic of Gilgamesh <> Noah
Hercules <> Sampson
Odysseus <> Jesus

This is correct and if you're more interested check out A Histroy of God by Karen Armstrong.
The book is not anti any specific religion or doesn't try to prove/disprove God but explains how "God" and religion has changed over centuries and how many religions today have borrowed and adapted things from prior culture beliefs.

Christianity has a long tradition of "borrowing" from other religions not just Greek Mythology.
Christmas is a good example where Pagan sun worship gets morphed into the story of the birth of Christ.
Or what about egyptian images of winged humans or halos which seem to have been around for ever.
Of course I'm sure Christians will just tell us these are primative versions of the "truth" of the Christian faith.
The truth IMHO is that its a lot easier to convert the masses from one religion to another if you "happen" to share a lot of ideas, iconography, celebration dates etc. with them.

Those numbers are all way off. You leave off centuries, or what?
Anyway, Sumerian and Egyptian myths predate both, and the origins of every major myth can be found in the earliest writings.

Apparently St Paul was selling a version of Jesus venerating Judaism to the gentiles while Jerusalem was being heavily ethnically cleansed, wiping out Christ's true church that was being headed by his brother James and Pauline Christianity became intermingled with Roman theology, or something, so this crazy book I'm reading called 'Second Messiah' claims It goes on to say that 4 houses of Jerusalem survived and 1000 years later formed the Knights Templar to excavate the site of the Temple in Jerusalem Then when THEY were wiped out for heresy their ideas were continued by the Freemasons, oh and the Turin Shroud, the grail and king Arthur are thrown in for good measure, as I say it's pretty crazy!
