Will be great if the icade thing takes off. As for playing on an iphone/pod/pad, experience so far says arcade and console games converted to the machine are generally sh*te due to the complete arsery of trying to play with virtual buttons on a touch screen.

Eh, Super Ghouls & Ghosts?... I thought that was only on the SNES (not in the Arcade). But it was good enough so I guess that's okay. :-/

And I wonder how the 4 button 'Street Fighter II' games work? Okay, they're 5 buttons. 2 punch, 2 kick, and "Special" -I presume. What is jab, strong, and Fierce? or Short, Forward, and Roundhouse? Or is it pressure sensitive? Like if you press light/quickly it's the weak/fast attacks...

And no Strider? There's no justice.

eta: I hope SEGA does the same thing.

Yeah, the nature of the touchscreen means any games not specifically designed for it are a little tough to play. This collection isn't that bad, in most games you have a choice of playing the original as-is, or playing a version that has been tweaked for the control limitations (easier difficulty, auto-fire in shooters, etc.). There's an Atari collection out, too, where the controls are just unplayably awful.

I'm not too sure about the whole micropayments thing, though. You download the app for free and get something like 10 tokens a day to spend in the "arcade". Then you can either buy more tokens that work out to a few cents each, or you can buy a machine for a few dollars and play it for free. On one hand, it replicates the arcade experience pretty much exactly. On the other hand, I can't quite see buying virtual tokens to put in virtual arcade machines on my iPod.

I know snes have this one as well. Anyway...

Yea it can't be right. It should be called GHOULS'N GHOSTS and with the same setup. But it not. I guest they never played the real GHOULS'N GHOSTS before.

"Super GHOULS'N GHOSTS

Title was release as an arcade game in 1991.
Legendary knight Athur is back once again who must rescue the Princess from the demons. The game is a traditional 2D action game, as with the first two arcade installments, in which Arthur must run, jump, and shoot his way through huge swarms of enemies and traps."

They probably talking about the bootleg one that never been release in the arcade. Maybe it never been found.

The 9th title in the list IS Ghouls N'Ghosts. That one actually was in the arcade... I'm thinking they just threw all 3 in to make it more of a (complete) collection.

eta: If "Super Ghouls n' Ghosts" ever really was in the arcade then I guess I just don't know my capcom arcade games as well as I... wished.

1942 almost works well on the thing, depending on how you feel about the movement change. The touchscreen works the way Tyrian on PC did with a mouse-- the faster you move your finger, the faster you move onscreen, allowing you to zip across the screen in the blink of an eye if you want.

Obviously you can't compare scores with the arcade version as a result, but if you can accept that change it plays well enough. SF2 and the other types of games aren't going to work nearly as well, though.

Nah, think I'll stick with my Dingoo and GP2X Caanoo. The Dingoo has a d-pad and physical buttons, and the Caanoo an analog nub + buttons + touchscreen. Both also have very broad emulator support, so I don't think I'm missing anything relative to the iPod touch alternative.

You can use Wii controllers to play

Wonder if any of the source code was taken from MAME
