triforce.c mistake in info
#254493 - 05/14/11 02:47 AM

Sorry to be nitpicky but the info is wrong.

Code:

293 P1 - Motherboard Power Connector (located under the PCB)
294 P2 - Digital Video Output Connector (not used)
295 P3 - Controller Pad Board Connector (tied to lower PCB to J8 with a small flat cable)
296 P4 - Memory Card Slot Connector A \ (not used)
297 P5 - Memory Card Slot Connector B /
298 P6 - Serial Port Connector 1 (located under the PCB, tied to a plug/cable that leads to J10 on lower PCB)
299 P7 - Analog Video Output Connector (tied to a plug/cable that leads to J9 on lower PCB)
300 P8 - Serial Port Connector 2 (located under the PCB, not used)
301 P9 - Media Port Connector (joins to CN1S on the Media Board)
302 P10 - Hi-Speed Parallel Port Connector (located under the PCB, not used)

P7 is actually the Digital AV out, P2 is the analogue. While the analogue works fine (Used a standard GC Composite cable), the GC Board is NTSC-J and thus is outputting that system. The Analogue port is also blocked by a metal post.

The main board is a common Gamecube and the info was taken from some Gamecube specific sites. If you are querying the validity of the info you will need to provide proof and/or a link to a site showing proof that the connector is what you say it is. Even so any connector correction is unimportant since most of the GC connectors are not used on Triforce.

I know most aren't.

DOL-001 Gamecube (Same mobo type as triforce). Connector in the middle is labelled the Digital AV, which the Triforce cable uses.

hmm, that pic of the outside of a Gamecube doesn't prove anything about the internal connections and where they go when the GC board is used in a Triforce case.....

I thought you'd want me to dissamble my Triforce to prove my words, I was hoping that pic was enough lol.

Anyway, as you can see, if you compare my earlier photo, the analogue port is to the left in this pic, which is blocked by that metal post. While functional, they use the digital port to the right. The analogue port is labeled P2 and Digital P7 as you can see here.

Still some other proof I'm missing now?

No, he's right. On first-rev GameCubes (which is what Triforce appears to be based on) the connectors are in that order.

It is based on the first rev NTSC-J Cube. The whole board works fine in a Rev 1 GC case, it just moans that the Media Board is missing, which is obvious since that's where the main DOL loader is kept. Anything else you need while I hae it out or is that all for now?
