The downloadable content surcharge asslick sucks Sub-Zero's nuts

I thought it was cool until I found out to get the full game you'll have to pay about $1,000. They should have left that idea in some shithouse massively multigayer online role play fag hole. I want to go back to the cartridge system. Fix the goddamn bugs before you sell it and take your 1 payment and shut your shit rimmed lips and work on a sequel.

Also it's not just that game. I maybe shouldn't have singled it out. It's the idea in general. I've seen in in other recent games. Paying for "DLC" after you already overpaid for a game. So gay!

Seconded. 
Having to pay real money for additional weapons, vehicles, costumes, etc. is ridiculous IMO. As Smit was pointing out by the time you get all the upgrades, you've already paid for the game at least twice over. This is the kind of stuff that keeps me away from modern console gaming.
I could go unpack my old Atari 2600 and plug in a cartridge and it would behave just as it did when I was a kid. I can only imagine trying to hook up a PS3 or Xbox360 even 10 years from now and nothing working because the game has to check DLC.

Although I seem to have stopped playing console games almost entirely now. Still have the Wii MK in the wrapper (didn't even attempt to play it yet)
The 3DS is all kinds of cool though. Bonus for the AK2i still working for older stuff

it's just as bad with pc games too. there's so much pre-order and promo code bullshit that it confuses me after i install and put it all in as to what i'm supposed to have.

The point here is now consoles are as bad as PCs. Of course we knew something like that would happen right after the first generation XBOX.

So that in 10 years they can charge more for the "retro packs" that includes all of the costumes, weapons, and vehicles that the game should have had as unlockables in the first place.

Bad Company 2: Vietnam is like a whole new game
Burnout Paradise Big Surf Island, along with the other special car add-ons was awesome. And all that came after three major FREE updates.
I'd rather pay for new individual songs for Rock Band, than for a new disc where I only like half the songs.
Granted, a lot of the companies do it wrong, but sometimes they do it right.
