The one used in Mame has a 3d like effect on the left side whereas a second piece of cardboard was placed over the original to make it look 3d. Problem is, if you are close to the edge, small spaceship might come out and roast you. The following page shows a cab with and without the extra piece. Was this a seperate piece or a seprate bezel?
