The Spanish Poll
#253390 - 05/01/11 02:53 AM

All people of Spanish descent have 2 middle names and their names are simply a combination of stereotypical names such as Jose and Rodriguez. They put the same 10 names in a hat written on different pieces of paper whenever one of them is born and the first few drawn out are the baby's name.
True
False
Most likely
They don't all have 2 middle names. Some of them have 3 or 4.

Your poll should have been about Mexicans, NOT Spanish descent. HUGE difference...

I've seen most of this from Mexicans but it seems like everyone I meet on the web from Spain (OK, most) are the same way. Honestly, 4 names and all stereotypical ones.

That's original at it's best Mr.dogg. Try and find this pixilated mess on your forums.

Have you met anyone named Billy-Bob Haggins yet? You've been in the right places....

I've met lots of Billys and Bobs. No Haggins. I've probably met some Billys that were in reality Billy Bobs but wouldn't admit to it/prefer to be called that. I'm not making this based only on stereotypes, that would be too easy. Start selling and buying internationally regularly on the internet and you'll see. The funny thing about stereotypes is they are often true.

Jesus.

First time I saw that name, I looked at the roster in college, and was like, "Dude, we can't loose! We got the son of God on our team!"

I always thought that was weird. It seems a little disrespectful. You're not supposed to take the Lord's name in vain, but you can take the Lord's name?

The same goes for Muslims, Mohammed is a very common name. They'll kill your ass if you so much as draw a picture of him, but name your kid after him? No problem.

Well no-one seems to bat an eye at the name Joshua, and that's just another rendering of the same Hebrew name...

I've heard someone pronounce it like 'Hey-Zeus' when referring to a Hispanic person.

Not gunna go there, that laughable Zeitgeist b.s.

I mean, they pronounce J (jays) as H's (aiches), like Jalapeño, and when they type out that they're laughing with "Ja ja ja ja".
