Meh, I wasn't busy anyways, only sleeping.
I took the battery out and it kept going.
Riddle me this, Batman... why make a "battery" backup for a smoke alarm that is hard-wired into the electric lines of the house anyway? Shouldn't it just have a "rechargable battery" that stays charged while the power is on?
"Um, yeah. You didn't get the memo? M'kay. The boss bought some stock in Duracell, so we need to make these things use disposable batteries."
