I'm suspicious of the photos of hot cosplay chicks at conventions. From my experiences at Star Trek conventions as a kid (I am the offspring of a Trekkie), I would estimate that for every smokin' hot chick in a revealing costume that gets photographed, there are probably about 30 people (male and female) wearing completely body-type inappropriate costumes that you don't see. I'm just not sure the hotness is worth the eye-searing horrors.

If that's your thing there are adequate places for watching hot girls in revealing outfits anyway. They're called "Night Clubs" with "Pole dancers". I think you would prefer cigar smoke than sweat odor, no need to drag family into fetishes. :P

Last time I went to a convention was on 2003 when Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball was being promoted by Microsoft at EGS. Microsoft has always had the best selection in models at those conventions (before booth babes appearances were regulated recently).
Nearest convention of that kind here is TNT, however that's something I prefer to avoid at any cost. I like certain subcultures, but I prefer to stay away from them in real life and mix up with "regulars". Online is the best place to share interests like these and behave out there like an average "not weird" guy.
Now, I don't mean everyone is weird. Just conventions like these attract and concentrate many uncommon people.

Exactly. Never attended Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Germany or any other Goth club? (in Germany at least). Even my friend who picked on me during those years now likes those places for obvious reasons.
