I was thinking the same thing. That scrawny idiot is lucky he didn't land on his head or he'd probably be dead.

When we find out what "the Rat's" street address, a whole mob of /b/tards are going to pay him a visit. We've already mobbed the school, and the principal's home.

Personally, I would have popped that tough guy who stepped up afterward too, just for good measure. You're already in deep shit for fighting, might as well get your money's worth.

The scrawny kid got off with a lighter sentence originally, while the bigger kid was suspended. Due to internet outrage the principal changed it from 12 days suspension to 4 or something like that.

Good on the big kid for standing up for himself and not taking shit anymore and then walking away after he proved his point. If you listen to the girl that stops the other kid she tells him to "walk away before he does it to you".

This is the only way that bullying will ever stop. Maybe not to that extreme, but I mean at the parent/family level.

Raise yo kids, raise yo kids, raise yo god damn kids....

That's a bunch of bullshit that he was suspended at all. What is that teaching him, not to stick up for himself when someone punches him in the face? Oh that's just fucking great. Great job.

That's what happens when you have a "zero tolerance" policy.

When I was in 4th grade there was some kind of early "fight club" going on where you'd get a note at lunch that somebody "chooses" you at the end of lunch which basically meant at the last 5 minutes of recess, they were going to fight you so you'd better be ready.

There was this real prick who was like this champion or something because he kept winning, but basically he kept "choosing" the scrawny kids (like this poor kid named Scotty who was teased relentlessly for being a poor, Jehovah's Witness kid). So of course Scotty gets beat to a pulp, poor kid didn't want to fight in the first place and was basically ambushed. I didn't have the courage to stand up during the fight but afterward told him that it was messed up that he beat up such a smaller kid. So the next day he "choosed" me at recess. I was pretty scrawny in elementary school and had never been in a fight before.

It was like a damned Hollywood movie. The second the fight started it started pouring rain. The playground turned muddy and he and I were wresting on the ground. I managed to get him in a headlock that just about made him pass out. His tongue was hanging out and everything. Finally a teacher broke it up and marched us to the principal's office.

I broke down and cried like a little baby. I had never wanted to fight at all, but also wasn't about to back down. I was sent home with my parents, the other kid was suspended. My dad told me he was proud of me for standing up for myself. We really never talked about it since, and I wasn't ever "chosen", or really bullied again.

That's the policy at every school I've ever heard of. Schools don't want to get involved in arbitrating who started what. In a lot of cases it's not so cut-and-dried, and regardless you'd have pissed off parents to deal with more often than not. It's easier just to be even handed and enforce a "fighting is not acceptable" policy.

It does seem like schools these days hand out suspensions and get the police involved a lot more liberally than they used to. When I was a kid, a fight that didn't result in grievous bodily injury was good for a couple of days' detention at most. I don't think I ever saw someone get suspended before I was in high school. The idea of getting the police involved was virtually unthinkable.

I got into two fights with bullies in 8th grade. The first one was with a guy who was just an all-around dick who used to fuck with random scrawny kids during recess. One day, he decided to pick on me and he picked the wrong day.

My friends and I were playing "wall-ball" or some other made up game using a de-fuzzed tennis ball. The bully walks up and grabs the ball and starts walking away with him and his friends laughing. I said calmly but firmly, "give me the ball". He stopped and turned around to face me, still laughing and said something smart like "come take it", which basically meant that a "monkey in the middle" session was about to begin with his friends, me being the monkey. I kept slowly walking toward him and said "come on man, just give me the ball". As soon as I got close to him he looked at his friend and threw the ball to him. Right about then was when I snapped and punched him square in the face. It totally caught him off guard that someone would go from calm to psycho in the span of a few seconds. He hit me back and we ended up scuffling on the blacktop for a minute until a teacher broke it up.

I don't remember either of us getting suspended or getting detentions. However, from that day forward, that guy never messed with me or any of my friends. In fact a year later when we were in High School, he sat behind me in drafting class and kept trying to talk to me like we were best friends or something, LOL.

The second fight I remember was with this kid who a few years older than everyone else. I assume he had been left back two or three times. I remember that in eigth grade, he had a job after school, which was pretty rare as most of us were 13. I think he was 16. Anyway, he was taller than me and I was 5'11". He was also physically bigger. I was a scrawny stick-figure in eighth grade. At the time, we were going to graduation practice. Every chance this guy got, he was screwing with me. His favorite was flicking my ears whenever he was behind me. One day, we were riding on the bus back to school from graduation practice and he moved to the seat behind me and started flicking my ears. I calmly put up with it, and ignored it, saying nothing until the bus stopped at the school and his attention shifted to getting off the bus. As soon as this happened, I quickly stood up and round-house punched him in the side of his head, hitting him in the temple. I know he saw stars. He didn't hit me back, he just walked past me and said something like "I'm going to kill you, motherfucker, when you get off this bus". Of course, the bus driver saw all this and called it in. I just sat on the bus until the vice principal showed up. We both had to go talk to the principal (not at the same time) and my father was called in when it was my turn. The other kid ended up getting suspended for a week. I didn't get punished.

Similar to the first kid I talked about, when this kid came back from his suspension, he was acting like we were best friends for some reason.
