16:9 Bezels

I have read the LAY file stuff in the Sticky on this forum, but I can't say it makes as much since to me as I would like. I have looked into LAY files I have seen work for more examples. I have even gotten other LAY files that should work and don't so now I'll ask.
I want 16:9 bezels to work for my computer monitor. All the ones I have seen are here: http://www.cooleywire.com/jimmyh/mame/artwork.html
and they claim to work with the others I have seen work. Mr Do, whom I have read many post by, has done the only ones I have gotten to work. Can someone please help me get these working right? I would love to have them working, just adds that little something extra to MAME that I very much enjoy.

Heh... those are pretty cool, actually.
Well, it looks like from that site, you need to download the LAY files and PNG files separately, then combine them into ZIP files. There's one ZIP for all the LAY files, and it looks like three for the PNGs.
So, download everything, then, for example, combine frogger.lay and frog169.png into frogger.zip.
I'll have to check this out later

That didn't work for me either. I hadn't tried the zip file before, I just had them in files named to match the rom. The special files at the bottom of the linked back work just find the way they are without putting them into a zip file.
I am assuming at this point the LAY files for these bezels are wrong some how but I don't know enough to be sure.

I haven't figured out Donkey Kong yet. There must be something wrong with the lay file. If I don't figure it out, Mr.Do or someone will. I tried another one so I'm attaching Contra. Hope it works for you.
That's an interesting site you referenced. I'll check it out some more.

Ok, I think I found the problem with the lay file for Donkey Kong that he had. Try this one.

Sweet. That has it working right. I'm glad to know it wasn't me being stupid. Thanks a lot for your help guys. Maybe I can get all these working and make MAME that much more fun to look at.

I'm glad it worked out. Since there is no artwork for Zaxxon, I did that one also.
